BOAT BUILDER/ LEAD CARPENTER:

General Summary: Full-time position repairing and building wooden boats. Applicant needs to have minimum of 5 years hands on experience working with wood and epoxy systems in the boat building and repair trade.

Education and Experience:

• Journeyman level or better in carpentry, structural to finish joinery

• Must have all your own tools needed for the job

• This is NOT an entry-level position!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assortment of duties relating to wooden boat building, restoration, and repair

• All types of boat building

• Cold molding construction of wooden boats

• Finish joinery

• Basic systems maintenance; mechanical, electrical, ect.

• Read plans and follow instructions

•Order supplies for specific jobs and tasks

• Assist other departments when necessary

• Work with office staff and customers for the efficient and competent completion of projects

• Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Ability to grasp and utilize technical manuals

• Unconstrained ability to walk, bend, stand, stoop, climb and work safely around water, on a ladder, or in confined spaces for extended periods of time

• Capacity to lead a team or work alone

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend work orders in English

• Skilled in the use of a variety of power and hand tools (i.e. sanders, planers, grinders, saws, etc.)

Compensation based on experience and ability to bill hours.

LEAD FINSH PAINTER/ FIBERGLASS REPAIRER:

General Summary: Full-time position responsible for preparing surfaces, applying all types of marine coatings and fiberglass repair. Applicant needs to have minimum of 5 years experience in the above listed skills working in a hands on position in a boatyard.

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years doing boatyard repair in a hands on position

• Must have all your own tools needed for the job

• This is NOT an entry-level position!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assortment of duties relating to boat maintenance and repair

• Bottom Maintenance (i.e. sanding, stripping, painting, fairing, grinding, etc.)

• Prep and painting of hull with epoxy primers and polyurethane paints using conventional and spray application

• Fiberglass repair including structural repair, finish gel-coat restoration and color matching

• Use of epoxies and polyester resins

• Assist other departments when necessary

• Work with office staff and customers for the efficient and competent completion of projects

• Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to grasp and utilize technical manuals

• Unconstrained ability to walk, bend, stand, stoop, climb and work safely around water, on a ladder, or in confined spaces for extended periods of time

• Capacity to work in a team or alone

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend work orders in English

• Skilled in the use of a variety of power and hand tools (i.e. buffers, grinders, saws, spray equipment, rollers, etc.)

Compensation based on experience and ability to bill hours.

CRANE OPERATOR: Must be certified operator (or able to sit for exam) with at least 2 years experience on conventional crane.
