Koehler Kraft Co Inc has an Equipment Operation and Maintenance Manager (EOMM) position open for immediate employment. Our growing company is seeking a responsible and motivated individual to join our team in a key position. The EOMM position is an essential part of a successful operation. The EOMM will work hands on with the team to ensure the boatyard equipment and facility are in top operation and prepared for the duties at hand.

Job Description

To maintain smooth daily operations the EOMM will coordinate with Yard Office Manager to schedule use of equipment and facilities in advance in order to assure that they are prepared for upcoming jobs. This position also performs checks to equipment and facility and, if applicable, will start and warm up equipment prior to use. The EOMM will be on standby as operator if the scheduled operator is not available.

A typical day will involve maintaining and preparing equipment for hauling boats to or from the water. For example, assuring cradles wheels for the marine railway are greased and operational as per maintenance check list.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operation of the following equipment:

  • Assist with crane and marine railway operations.

  • Oversee yard maintenance and cleaning.

  • Responsible for yard and facility upkeep, maintenance, and cleaning

  • Oversee maintenance and logs required of hydro-washer, railway system, and crane.

  • Ensure daily procedures are successfully completed and logbooks are up to date.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Able to perform basic maintenance on the above equipment.

  • Understand the operation and maintenance of portable and stationary equipment such as: pressure washers, table saw, band saw, etc

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.

  • 3 – 5+ years Boatyard experience a must.

  • Ability to lift heavy item such as boat stands & blocking in different positions.

  • Able to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.

  • Experience with marine railway a bonus.

  • Strong communication skills, English required.

  • Strong sailing/boating experience helpful.

  • Must be able to tie basic knots (i.e. bowline, trucker’s hitch, rolling hitch...etc.)

  • Strong work ethic, self starter, able to solve problems on your own and desire to work as a member of a fast paced team.


Job Type: Full-time


Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and qualifications (Range $40,000 - $70,000/year)
